UBU Environmental, a street cleaning hire business, has extended its tracking product from Ctrack to cover an additional 40 specialist vehicles within it operation.

As a result, the system will now track the majority of its fleet that comprises of roadsweepers, high-pressure road jetters, pedestrian precinct sweepers and gully wagons to enhance performance and asset utilisation.

The Ctrack system provides a range of live and historical data to enable UBU to have total visibility of its hire fleet as well as help resolve customer queries and verify timesheets.

The company monitors the location and status of all specialist vehicles from its head office and operations centre in Manchester via both wall-mounted and computer screens.

According to Ctrack, the tracking information allows UBU to achieve optimum deployment of mobile resources, maximising productivity and enhancing customer service.

It ensures scheduled work is completed on time, whilst identifying the most appropriate asset for any unscheduled jobs and emergency call outs.

In addition, the system allows the company to communicate directly with drivers in the field using a messaging tool.

Eddie Murphy, director of UBU Environmental commented: "The Ctrack system gives us that added visibility and control over our resources to best utilise our assets and workforce. We have established a reputation for a high quality service across the North West by taking advantage of the latest fleet technology to boost our performance and customer response."

John Wisdom, managing director at Ctrack said: "We work closely with our customers to ensure our tracking systems meet their business and operational needs. The unrivalled flexibility and functionality of our technology means it can be tailored depending on precise requirements across a wide range of industry sectors."
