Fleet management company sgfleet has switched to a Michelin tyre policy, because it believes the premium tyre brand will help increase its customer base.

Historically, sgfleet, which manages more than 2,000 cars and vans in the UK, has fitted an alternative brand of premium tyres, but after achieving superior results from vehicles running on Michelin, UK chief executive officer David Fernandes has made the change.

He said: “As a fleet management company looking to expand our business we need to give our customers the best quality, the best value and reduce downtime as much as possible. We believe you stand the best chance of this by fitting Michelin tyres.

“We have used Michelin rubber in a limited capacity before and we’ve always had positive feedback from our customers. In particular, we’ve always been impressed by the excellent fuel economy the tyres offer and how long they last.

“By moving to a Michelin policy we hope we’ll get even more positive feedback and knowing our existing customers are happy is the foundation to expanding our client base.”

As part of the two-year deal, more than 80 per cent of sgfleet’s UK-based vehicles will be running on Michelin tyres and ATS Euromaster will be responsible for fitting them.

Fernandes adds: “We hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship with Michelin and ATS Euromaster and believe the added value from fitting Michelin tyres will help our business to grow.”

Operating in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, sgfleet manages more than 70,000 cars and vans worldwide.
