Following a successful pilot scheme Pulse, Zenith’s online fleet diagnostic tool is being rolled out across all of its customers.

Pulse is a data-rich system that is delivered via a centralised web interface, enabling customers to interrogate any element of their fleet, anywhere in the world.

It has been developed by Zenith’s in-house teams and integrates all management systems (including vehicle orders, maintenance, accident management, finance and payroll), linking all departments in one business intelligence database and reporting function.

Natalie Hulbert, head of health, safety and environment for Trader Media, one of Zenith’s customers who has been using Pulse for several months, said: “Pulse has made the day to day management of our fleet even simpler, providing regular reporting on areas such as pool cars, accidents and fines.

“It helps us, working closely with Zenith, to target those who have a higher number of fines, accidents or don’t refuel hire cars so we can prevent re-occurrence; reducing costs and improving fleet safety.

“Our business has a strong focus on health and safety and the accidents analysis that Pulse provides is enabling us to further review our policies and implement changes.

Trader Media Group is very focused on reducing our carbon footprint, therefore the CO2 emission trending analysis it provides is invaluable.

Hulbert continued: “It helps us to understand how changes made to our fleet are impacting emissions and decide how to evolve choice lists.

“Pulse is enabling us to gain a full picture of every single aspect of our fleet. We can interrogate all data, specific date ranges, view tables and graphs and also export any information that we need.

“It also assists with our negotiations with manufacturers as we can see trends and the impact of introducing different models to our choice lists. It is a huge step forward for fleet management software and has added great value to our organisation.”

The Pulse platform provides the data in real time, instantly serving information on orders and delivery status, CO2 emissions, terminations, end of contract information (such as early termination, excess mileage etc), accident statistics, hire car spend, fines and many more areas.

Zenith’s managed fleet travels over 700 million miles every year and valuable data from those vehicles will be used to generate a whole life cost of running any given make or model of car.

Using Pulse, fleets will also be able to benchmark their costs, on a WLC basis, against anonymised fleets of similar composition and identify where cost savings and efficiencies can be made.

Pulse is adapted for iPad and other tablet devices, as well as smartphones meaning that fleet and human resources professionals can have access to all data relating to their vehicles anywhere, at any time.
