Infiniti is launching a special limited edition of its M35h hybrid executive saloon, aimed at the fleet market.

The business edition is effectively a GT grade car with free connectivity (Infiniti’s navigation system) and will be available from September to December this year, priced at £42,010 on-the-road.

Tony Lewis, sales director for Northern Europe, said: “It has 55 premium standard features which will give it an advantage over competitors.

“It has a £6,500 advantage over some competitors on specification and we’re hoping that will drive some significant interest.”

The M35 hybrid launched last year and was “a breakthrough product” in the fleet market for Infiniti, according to Lewis.

“It was very well received,” he said. “It’s the fastest accelerating full hybrid in the world but still only emits 159g/km.”

Lewis added that Infiniti hasn’t ruled out the idea of other business editions of its models.

“We’re looking at a similar exercise on the FX,” Lewis said. “We like the idea of this travelling business class approach to life.”

It has become increasingly common for vehicle manufacturers to target business users, with Mercedes-Benz offering an Executive SE grade on E-Class in 2011, and on C-Class in 2012, along with Vauxhall’s Tech Line and Volvo’s Business Edition grade.
