Kier appoints Specialist Fleet Services

Kier has awarded an eight-year contract for a new fleet of refuse and cleansing vehicles together with maintenance services to Specialist Fleet Services (SFS).

The vehicles will facilitate a new waste collection and recycling service for the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, starting on April 1 2013.

Keith Atkins, fleet operations manager at Kier, said: “We needed a one-stop solution for the vehicles and their maintenance.

“The situation in this case was unique because we currently don’t have any vehicle workshop facilities in the King’s Lynn area.

“SFS is well established and a leading provider of municipal vehicles, maintenance services and fleet management.

“We selected them on the basis of their pricing, their credentials & their reputation in this sector.”
