Expanding Gloucester-based FAB Recycling attended the South West Business Insider Awards, in Bristol, after being shortlisted for a prestigious business accolade.

FAB Recycling, which is fast becoming the destination for quality recycled vehicle parts in the UK, was shortlisted for its sustainable approach and stringent ‘closed loop’ process which enables the company to lead the vehicle part recycling industry.

The vehicle dismantler recently launched the first trade auction website selling traceable vehicle parts bundles via FAB Bundle.

Along with its other businesses, FAB Direct and My Green Fleet, this has helped FAB Recycling grow by 42% last year, and it is expected to expand by a further 25% in 2013/4.

The company recently highlighted to Government ministers at the Conservative Party Conference how recycled vehicle parts could help public sector vehicle fleets save money.

It has already helped 40-plus police forces around the country reduce their repair bills by around £1.5m by using non-safety recycled vehicles parts, without compromising on standards.

Managing director Jason Cross said: "FAB Recycling has been working hard for years to improve the reputation of the vehicle dismantling industry in the UK.

“It was wonderful to be acknowledged for that work, and to meet with companies that have not only a regional, but often national and international reputation.

“The average British driver is being badly squeezed by high motoring costs. We believe the recycled vehicle parts industry will continue to grow as more and more of us start demanding quality, traceable recycled parts for corporate and personal vehicles.”
