Fraikin has won a contract with catering butchers Aubery Allen to provide five vehicles for its delivery operations.

Aubrey Allen makes more than 200 nationwide deliveries a day, six days a week.

Deliveries are made before the start of operations each day with vehicles often setting off in the early hours of the morning.  Reliability is therefore key for the Coventry-based butcher.

The contract, which is for 42 months, is for five Mercedes Sprinter refrigerated vehicles and includes full maintenance with an added facility of providing an additional vehicle and driver in times of peak.  Fraikin will also manage all compliance issues.

Each vehicle, which will display the Royal Warrant, will be maintained on a proactive basis based on mileage used.

Fraikin will log the mileage monthly in order to gauge usage and regulate servicing.

It is also providing breakdown cover nationwide, 24 hours a day, co-ordinated from its breakdown centre at Oldbury, West Midlands.

In the event of a breakdown occurring, Fraikin will supply replacement vehicles in order to maintain continuity of service.

Wayne Holmes, operations manager at Aubrey Allen, said: “Historically all our vehicles, apart from two which we own, have been sourced from a single provider. However, after speaking with Fraikin we decided to move half the fleet such was the confidence we had in their operation.”

Peter Backhouse, CEO, of Fraikin, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract from Aubery Allen. They had a number of very specific requirements which we were able to meet as well as provide the additional flexibility and value added services which gave them the assurance that we were the right partner for the job.”
