Europcar has unveiled InterRent, its new low-cost car rental brand for leisure customers.

As of April 2013,  InterRent will be available in the UK, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain, mostly based near airport and railway stations.

The 44 InterRent stations will offer customers a fleet of 6,000 vehicles, including mini, economy, compact and mini van categories.

InterRent's website provides an easy booking process in just three steps: date and place of the rental; vehicle category and any options needed; and payment.

Each rental includes 24h on-road assistance and the mandatory third-party liability insurance and additional coverage for theft and damages.

Customers have the opportunity to choose options including: a baby seat, GPS, and extra drivers.

Europcar says that the launch of InterRent illustrates its commitment to meeting all of its customers’ mobility needs.

Roland Keppler, chief executive officer of Europcar group, said: “The launch of InterRent is a key achievement of our Group’s strategy. With InterRent, we are addressing customers’ needs, expanding our offer, enriching our brand portfolio and entering a growing market, the low cost car rental segment.”

Jehan de Thé, InterRent director, commented: “With its “drive, save, enjoy” signature, InterRent is targeting a new category of leisure travelers.

“In addition to a low cost approach, we will offer a client experience based on innovation and quality of service. We plan to double the number of stations and to deploy InterRent outside Europe by 2014”.
