Fuel card provider Fuelmate has increased its network coverage to more than 7,000 forecourts after signing a deal to supply Esso’s fuel card.

The business is one of seven in the UK certified to supply the card and means Fuelmate now offers every major card available in the UK.

It follows a deal in December with DKV Euro Services which saw the East Yorkshire company provide a card which is accepted at service stations across the continent for the first time.

Fuelmate now provides cards from Esso, BP, Shell, Keyfuels, Texaco, UK Fuels and DKV Euro Services.

Johnny Vintis (pictured), manager of Fuelmate, said the addition completed the company’s offering and gave the business far greater coverage across the country.

The deal between the two companies was completed this month and the card is available from Fuelmate now.

It has added nearly 1,000 extra fuel stations to the company’s coverage meaning Fuelmate customers can buy fuel at more than 7,000 UK filling stations.

Bryan Glazier, sales manager for Esso Card, said: “We are delighted to welcome Fuelmate to Esso Card.

“Esso has recently announced new supply agreements which strengthen its presence in the UK retail fuel market and that will increase the total number of Esso-branded retail sites in the UK to over 1,000.

“Our new deal with Fuelmate complements these agreements and will facilitate growth in our indirect sales channel.”
