Enterprise Rent-A-Car is celebrating its inclusion in The Times’ Top 50 Employers for Women list for the eighth consecutive year.

The list is produced in partnership with Opportunity Now, the gender campaign from Business in the Community.

The company was judged by a team of gender diversity experts on its internal processes, as well as external activity that promotes gender equality, diversity and inclusion, creating opportunities for women in a wider context.

To be included on the list, Enterprise was required to demonstrate that gender equality is an integral part of its business strategy and diversity is embedded within the organisation, with consistent commitment to progressing women in the workplace that covers the entire organisation.

Mike Nigro, managing director UK & Ireland at Enterprise, said: “To be recognised as a Top 50 Employer for Women is a testament to the hard work that our teams put in everyday to attract, retain and develop the best female talent, making Enterprise a female employer of choice in the UK.”

Enterprise was recognised for continuing to hire, train and promote women into all levels of management. This is critical to ensure more women can progress through the organisation, which promotes 99% from within.

Initiatives included further development of its mentoring programme, where senior directors coach women that have demonstrated good promotion potential. In this programme, over the past 12 months, Enterprise retained over 96% of participants and promoted 10% into more senior roles.
