Specsavers Corporate Eyecare has launched driver information packs aimed at highlighting eyecare issues and providing facts and advice for those with fleet responsibility.

The move comes as research reveals that as many as one in three drivers fail to meet the minimum eyesight requirements for driving and two out of five drivers have not had their eyes tested within the last two years.

Suzanne Randall, corporate account manager at Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said: “Our driver information packs aim to arm fleet managers with the details they need regarding driving vision. We passionately believe that improved eyecare would have a big impact upon safety on our roads and that the workplace plays a vital role in ensuring employees are fit to drive.”

The information contained within the packs includes a number plate and a 20.5 metre ribbon, which gives employers a quick check to raise awareness of the issue internally and for drivers to check if they can see the number plate at the required distance. It also includes updates regarding legislation, facts and figures, information and materials for employees, and recent news items. These will be constantly updated to provide the very latest advice and information.

So far over 100 driving packs have been issued to clients of Specsavers Corporate Eyecare and are available free upon request. Call 0115 933 0800 or email uk.corporateeyecare@specsavers.com.
