AA launches online car sales platform

The AA has launched AA Cars with the aim of offering dealers immediate access to the AA’s 15 million members as well as being visible to the millions of visitors to the AA’s own website, including the eight million who use the AA Route Planner very month.

AA Cars is a creative partnership between the AA and VCARS, which is an established interactive platform that allows dealers to advertise their vehicles on a widely-used online resource. 

The existing VCARS site has been transformed into AA Cars with a range of car buying advice added while every vehicle on the site will have an AA Cars History Check.

For car buyers, it aims to povide a simple and risk-free way to buy their next car.  

Edmund King, AA president, said: “The AA de-risks the buying process by offering great advice, car history checks and transparency in putting consumers in touch with recognised dealers.

“For dealers, this represents a unique opportunity to associate their business with the trusted AA name. 

“For consumers, the AA has simplified car buying by offering a portal that offers access to thousands of cars in their own locality, with the added protection of an upfront car data check worth up to £20. The cost is paid by AA Cars and the check is provided free to the consumer”.

At launch AA Cars will present more than 110,000 used cars for sale from over 2,000 dealers throughout the UK on the new website, www.theaacars.com

Paul Davis, CEO of VCARS says that the association with the AA is a significant endorsement for the work that VCARS has put into development of its successful interactive site, providing a reliable and worthwhile outlet for the dealer networks listed.

“It works by matching cars to the needs and desires of the buyer and then introducing them to the vendor, with whom they complete the deal.”
