Teletrac Navman announces OEM Telematics platform

OEM Telematics from Teletrac Navman

Teletrac Navman has launched a new product, OEM Telematics, providing its customers with greater access to data.

OEM Telematics allows customers to fit Teletrac Navman’s TN360 fleet management platform with factory-fitted telematics hardware from a range of manufacturers – removing the need for vehicles to go off-road for installation to occur.

Andrew Rossington, chief product officer at Teletrac Navman, said: “This is another example of Teletrac Navman simplifying complex operational challenges for fleets, empowering them with smarter data, faster, from which to make better decisions.”

The OEM Telematics platform is primarily intended for fleets with high turnover and utilisation, rental companies for example, and uses cloud-to-cloud integration to provide telematics data to ongoing fleet operations.

This solution provides a high quantity of individualised data, such as vehicle ID and location, speed, fuel levels or battery charge state for an electric vehicle (EV). Such data is available to a fleet manager with the use of a vehicle number that can be entered into the TN360 platform.

"The rapid growth of built-in telematics in vehicles reflects a broader shift toward connected mobility, where data-driven insights, real-time diagnostics, and seamless integration are transforming vehicles into smart, responsive platforms on wheels,” Rossington explained.

“Robust data platforms are essential for unlocking the full value of this connectivity through secure, scalable, and actionable intelligence.”

Europa implements a unified system following research from Microlise

Driver for Europa Worldwide Group

Logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group, has improved driver safety and reduced costs with the implementation of a fully integrated telematics platform.

A recent study from Microlise has indicated that fleets are facing significant challenges when managing operations using multiple individual platforms, with 76% of respondents to a Microlise survey highlighting that they would rather use a single unified system.

Before adopting a single platform approach, Europa was making use of multiple platforms to manage its operations, with up to 2,400 deliveries per day across 10,000 delivery locations.

In 2023, the company lost £238,000 due to at-fault accident pay outs caused by unsafe driving.

In addition, approximately 90% of Europa’s drivers were categorised as at ‘high’ or ‘very high’ levels of risk.

Microlise CEO, Nadeem Raza, explained: “As the logistics industry grows and pressures mount, businesses need smarter tools that can keep up.”

Europa’s fully integrated platform has enabled the company to fully manage its operations under one system, allowing fleet managers to carry out route performance analysis, track shipments and ensure proof of delivery.

“A single, integrated system doesn’t just streamline operations,” said Raza.

“It lifts a huge weight off transport managers, helping to improve job satisfaction and reduce burnout.”

Since implementing a fully integrated telematics platform, Europa has reduced at-fault accident pay-outs by 65%, with 99% of its drivers now at ‘low’ or ‘very low’ risk levels.

“We have faith in a system that is multi-faceted,” confirmed Europa’s general manager for transport, Malcolm Castle.

“Our drivers are doing their jobs to far higher standards and the margin for error from manually plotting MOTs and services is eliminated. We can make the daily walkaround checks focus on the elements we choose and filter those that need rectifying. We would highly recommend a unified platform.”

Raza added: “Europa’s success shows just how powerful a unified fleet management platform can be.”

Mobilisights and Hiboo partner to offer accessible and understandable data

mobilisights

Mobilisights, the Stellantis data-as-a-service subsidiary, has partnered with the Hiboo machine data management platform to offer fleet managers operational data.

Fleets across the industry are frequently in need of data to improve their allocation of resources, reduce vehicle downtime, and take steps to make more efficient use of energy.

Through their partnership, Mobilisights and Hiboo promise customers clear and practical insights based on high-quality data – taken from connected Stellantis vehicles – without the need for additional devices or vehicle modifications.

“This partnership marks a significant step forward in our ambition to make data accessible, understandable, and truly actionable for those managing field operations on a daily basis,” said Clément Benard, CEO of Hiboo.

“This partnership will enable us to support our users towards a more efficient, strategic, and high-performing management of their assets.”

This approach offers fleet decision-makers access to three key indicators: vehicle location, time spent in the vehicle, and energy consumption. In this way, the partnership supports customers in tracking assets, monitoring performance, and identifying areas of improvement.

Samuel Vals, fleet account executive France at Mobilisights, added: “Users of construction machinery and heavy goods vehicles connected to the Hiboo platform will now be able to integrate data from the connected commercial vehicles of the Stellantis group.

“By bringing these data sources together on a single platform, we offer clients a unified and operational view of their rolling assets, where data becomes a genuine lever for productivity and management.”

eVA Self-Inspect benefits retailers by empowering customers

eVA Self-Inspect

eVA Valuations and Appraisals has announced the launch of eVA Self-Inspect – a self-appraisal tool designed to assist retailers in achieving greater value across their operations.

eVA, a product brand from Cox Automotive Europe, has identified a need to reduce the administrative complexities that sales staff regularly face – which can cause significant levels of tension – in order to ensure that retailers can operate successfully.

Libo Bian, product director at Cox Automotive Europe, said: “Time is money for retailers. With increasing operational costs squeezing margins, efficiency is crucial for a successful retailer today.

“We’re consistently looking for pain points across the retailing process, and for many of our customers, appraisals were a recurring sticking point in the customer acquisition process and were blocking conversions.”

eVA Self-Inspect offers customers the ability to appraise their part exchange vehicles at any time or location, and on any mobile device. This is accomplished by gathering key details – service history, number of keys, and images, for example – from the customer before they enter the premises.

SureCam launches new mobile app to support AI-powered coaching

SureCam's new mobile app

Video telematics solution provider, SureCam, has launched a mobile app to provide automated coaching and guidance to enable drivers to correct high-risk behaviour.

The app offers fully customisable communications, and is part of SureCam’s AI coaching initiative, with features triggered by an AI dashcam. With this solution, DashCam allows fleets to meaningfully respond to driver behaviour with automated and pre-determined actions.

John Weldon, SureCam’s president, said: “Our mobile app significantly reduces fleet-related workload, while measurably improving results, by automating and streamlining coaching processes and driver engagement.”

The system will provide drivers with warnings for initial or low-risk events, with action plans that include recommendations for training videos, coaching quizzes, or in-person meetings.

Any footage captured by the dashcam will be fully accessible to the driver, provided with feedback and a performance score based on peer results.

“Our coaching system has transformed how fleets use the footage and data generated by AI video telematics. It is eliminating up to 70% of vehicle alerts, and with the introduction of our mobile app, we can free up even more time and make the entire process much more manageable,” explained Weldon.

“This latest innovation will supercharge our AI coaching tool – already proven to cut high-risk driving events in half and dramatically reduce vehicle collisions – by supporting those drivers that need it most.”
