Chevin Fleet Solutions launches Smart Integrate

Chevin Fleet Solutions has launched Smart Integrate, designed to improve how operations connect and manage their data within FleetWave.

FleetWave has always been able to integrate with most software platforms or data sources globally through a variety of technology methods, such as FTP and API.

However, with fleet managers now managing an ever-growing ecosystem of systems ranging from fuel and maintenance to telematics and finance, it said there was a clear need for a faster, more user-friendly solution.

With a brand-new, intuitive visual interface, Smart Integrate empowers users to build and manage API connections, in a simple and efficient manner, without relying on costly and custom development, says Chevin.

This shift places the power firmly in the hands of fleet operators, enabling them to create and schedule tailored integrations that reflect the unique demands of their operation.

“Smart Integrate is set to transform the way we deliver integrations,” said Will Wycks, chief marketing and product officer at Chevin Fleet Solutions.

“Our goal is to remove the complexity and return value to our customers quicker, making FleetWave truly integration-agnostic while unlocking real-time, actionable insights from across the entire fleet ecosystem.”

Using the built-in integration canvas, clients can connect their preferred providers and consolidate all their fleet data within FleetWave.

New driver training modules support EV transition

E-Training World has launched new training modules to equip drivers of electric cars and vans with the skills they need for safer driving.

Electric vehicles have many similarities to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, but when handing a driver with keys to an electric vehicle (EV) for the first time, the online training provider says it is essential to train them in the differences, so that they understand how to drive their new vehicle safely.

The training modules also highlight some of the factors that affect battery usage, and the steps drivers can take to maximise range, as well as what to do if a vehicle breaks down.

Two training modules are available, tailored to EV cars and EV vans. Both versions featured high-definition video footage and are fully mobile-ready.

New FleetCheck-VDO integration gives fleets compliance access

A new integration between fleet management software provider FleetCheck and tachograph specialist VDO will mean fleets can access all their compliance data in one place.

A single sign on to FleetCheck’s core commercial vehicle platform provides access to both company’s systems, including key tachograph and driver card information alongside other records including maintenance, walkaround checks and driving licences.

In use, the FleetCheck software will act as the master channel for all data, removing the need for clients to update both systems separately, while ultimately enabling the creation of a combined Earned Recognition dashboard, providing reports on required key performance indicators that can be exported to the DVSA.

Ben Klarich, head of commercial and special vehicles at VDO UK, said: “It’s not just a simple data import but means that using a single sign on, all your compliance information is available in one place – both tachograph data analysed by VDO Fleet and areas such as walkaround checks covered by FleetCheck’s software.”

Peter Golding (pictured), CEO at FleetCheck, added:“We’re very pleased to be working with VDO in this way.

“They are the tachograph provider of choice for many of our customers and this integration will provide important advantages when it comes to safety and ease of use.”

Queclink partnership announced as new camera launched

UTS Fleet, a specialist in vehicle cameras, transport software and tracking technology, has entered into a hardware partnership with Queclink Wireless Solutions to develop a video-enabled, all-in-one telematics system.

The solution will use the CV200 smart dashcam, fully integrated with the UTS platform, to deliver combined fleet and video telematics.

“We have already undertaken a number of successful fleet trials and full implementations, and we believe this AI-powered 4G device is unlike any other all-in-one camera in the marketplace with endless possibilities,” explained Rob Turner, MD of UTS Fleet.

“The reliable video capture, unrivalled tracking capabilities and advanced connectivity provides a hardware solution that is robust, cost effective and flexible. This means we have the tools needed to meet a diverse range of fleet technology requirements through a single system.”

Vernon Bonser, UK sales director at Queclink, added: “We are partnering with a growing number of fleet technology specialists based on our ability to deliver feature-rich and cost-effective hardware solutions that are underpinned by first-class technical and operational support.

“Working closely with companies such as UTS Fleet, we are using real-word, user-experience to push the boundaries of fleet and video telematics.”

The partnership comes as Queclink has expanded its vehicle camera offering with the introduction of a new driver monitoring tool that will support telematics-based road safety and fleet risk reduction applications.

The window-mounted device is one of the most compact DMS (driver monitoring system) cameras of its kind in the marketplace and 50% smaller than Queclink’s previous solution.

Bonser said: “The compact size makes it ideal for any vehicle type, enabling it to be positioned discreetly without the risk of impairing driver visibility.

“As a result, we believe it is a highly practical and effective driver monitoring solution that will complement our expanding range of internal and external vehicle camera solutions.”

FleetEV secures spot on Welsh Government Commercial Delivery framework

FleetEV has secured a spot on the Welsh Government Commercial Delivery (WGCD) framework for electric vehicle (EV) provision.

The WGCD framework provides more than 200 Welsh public sector organisations with a compliant and streamlined path to electrifying their fleets. This includes access to specialist vehicles such as tippers and bespoke conversions.

In 2023, fragmented purchasing by individual authorities highlighted the need for consolidation, leading organisations to unite their procurement efforts.

FleetEV emerged as the sole supplier and, over the past 18 months, has achieved direct savings of more than £1.2 million.

Under the renewed framework, FleetEV once again achieved top rankings across both lot one and lot two, positioning it to deliver under a framework with a potential value of £45 million over the next three years.

Jarrad Morris, CEO and founder of FleetEV, said: “We’re incredibly proud to maintain our leading position on this framework, particularly given the significant outcomes we’ve delivered over the past 18 months.”
