AA DriveTech and BORDA (British Off-Road Driving Association) have joined forces to create a new federation to establish new Codes of Conduct in the delivery of off-road training.

Trainers, who are members of the federation, will commit to delivering 4x4 training to the highest possible standards, bound by performance criteria, making sure the needs of the customer come first.

Standards vary considerable in off-road training delivery, according to the body.

AA DriveTech and BORDA have jointly written the new Codes of Conduct to ensure customers’ experiences are not only structured and enjoyable, but also tailored to their individual needs.

Both organisations are keen to ensure Quality Assurance is top of their agenda and run ongoing monitoring sessions with their teams and members.

Steve Dethick, technical sales manager for AA DriveTech said: “I am delighted to be working alongside BORDA to raise training standards within the 4x4 industry. It has been clear for some time that standards of training delivery differ greatly from one organisation to another. With these new Codes of Conduct, developed exclusively by AA DriveTech and BORDA, customers can be sure they are working with 4x4 training providers that take customers service and quality of delivery very seriously.”

David Heaton, BORDA chairman said: “This is also a new dawn for BORDA, we are committed to the high standards we have developed over the last 20 years and look forward to a programme of continuous development with our new colleagues under the FORT banner. The combined strengths of both organisations will certainly provide those seeking off-road training with the reassurance of being trained by a ‘Fit and Proper Professional.’

The Codes of Conduct are already in place and being utilised within both AA DriveTech and BORDA and feedback from existing clients has been very positive.
