Kia Rio/Venga
Both models go through mid-cycle facelifts and feature greatly improved interiors with plusher materials and better dash facia, although the changes to the Venga are greater than those to the Rio. The Rio has new lights, grille and bumper design to help the car keep the sales momentum of recent years. Kia reports a trend for company car drivers to switch from mid-range C-segment cars into top-of-range Rio which sits in the B-segment. As a result of growing demand – for both new and used Rios - residual values have risen by a few percentage points since the current generation was launched four years ago. Venga changes also include front end design but also more substantial bodywork enhancements. The bulk of its fleet sales are Motability and rental.

Skoda Fabia
Although more of a retail car than fleet, the Skoda Fabia will nevertheless appeal to companies that are seeking to downsize their models including local authorities and NHS trusts. Pricing is slightly higher than the outgoing car although equipment levels will also be higher and will include digital radio and stop/start as standard on the entry-level S. SE will add Mirror Link smartphone connectivity and Smart Gate (which enables driving performance data to be uploaded to a smartphone), while the range topping SE-L (replacing Elegance) has climate control, cruise control and keyless entry. All engines, including 1.0-litre (which starts at £10,600) and 1.2-litre petrol as well as the 1.4 diesel, will be Euro 6 compliant. Lighter by up to 65kg, the new Fabia is also 8mm shorter, although internal length is increased by 8mm. Headroom is increased. At 330 litres, the boot is the largest in the sector and 15 litres more than current Fabia. A Combi estate version will also be available from launch. Residuals are expected to be a few percentage points up on the current car.
Mercedes-Benz B-Class
One of the most popular cars sold by Mercedes-Benz in Britain gets an extra trim level to go with refreshed packaging and a mid-life facelift.
Adding the option of an AMG version finally brings the popular B-Class model in line with every other model in the German firm's line-up.
“We hope this will put an end to confusion in the showrooms as well as generating extra interest,” said a spokesman at Paris.
Due at the end of the year, the revised car features a reversing camera, upgraded upholstery and a re-engineered seating layout for added versatility. It costs from £22,575 and the 180CDI version achieves 108g/km emissions, but a pure electric model with a Tesla power pack offering a 120-mile range arrives in spring.
