Glass’s has launched a tool that will give the fleet and finance industries the ability to connect directly with dealers to remarket vehicles more efficiently.

The new tool, TradeAlerts, allows remarketing teams across the country to de-fleet and dispose of vehicles through a system of email alerts.

Vehicles can be de-fleeted via a network of more than 3,500 dealers nationwide.

Users of the system will also have access to live retail pricing data through GlassNet Radar, enabling them to understand retail potential of individual vehicles both locally and nationally.

It will be offered free of charge to all GlassNet users until July 2014.

Dan Parnell, head of fleet and finance at Glass’s, said: “Having a direct line into dealers means remarketing teams can move vehicles more quickly and reduce handling costs, thereby improving profitability.

“This tool will allow fleets to diversify disposal routes to maximise returns, out-perform auction disposal values and reduce holding costs by establishing buyers in advance.

"And on the finance side, businesses will also benefit from mitigating potential loses and maximising the capital returns of repossessions and recoveries.”
