ALD Automotive has secured a new four-year sole supply contract to supply fleet management services to technical service provider Imtech UK Ltd.

The contract was awarded to ALD through a competitive tender managed by ERA Fleet Cost Management Ltd (ERAFCM) who has been appointed by Imtech UK to review the policy, procedures and associated costs of over 1,100 vehicles within its fleet.

ALD will supply Imtech UK with a fleet of company vehicles encompassing both vans and cars, combined with a range of ancillary support services including accident management and ALD’s ‘threesixty’ web portal. Working closely together ALD and ERAFCM will use their services and expertise to help Imtech UK effectively and efficiently manage its fleet operating costs.

Imtech UK is a technical services provider in the field of electrical, mechanical and ICT engineering and construction with over 28,000 employees and has a number of UK operating divisions running vehicle fleets.

Jim Goodhead, group supply chain director at Imtech UK, said: “We appointed ERA Fleet Cost Management to review the market on our behalf utilising their expertise to drive efficiencies and engage the best partner for our varying fleet requirements. Following an extensive tender process ALD were identified as our preferred supplier as they could provide us with the vehicles we required along with a range of associated first class support services, which will help us effectively manage our operating costs.”

Mel Dawson, managing director of ALD Automotive, said: “The four-year agreement between ALD and Imtech UK highlights their confidence in our ability to deliver a fully outsourced fleet management solution. The combination of ALD Automotive’s account management team and our in-house systems development will ensure that all of Imtech Group’s objectives for managing their fleet are achieved.”

Sean Bingham, principal consultant at ERAFCM, said: “ALD have been awarded this business following an extensive review of the market to source a reliable and sustainable cost competitive solution to Imtech’s individual requirements, allied to first class service delivery.”

Dawson added: “We’re continually investing in innovative technology and services to help companies improve their efficiency and manage their costs. This investment is paying dividends and we’re anticipating another year of record growth with our fleet of managed-vehicles forecast to grow past 100,000 by the middle 2014.”
