A BMW sale at Manheim's Colchester site reached £12.4 million at an event that saw almost 800 people register online and in the halls.

More than 1,000 vehicles went under the hammer at the sale, which included a range of both financial service and multi-make stock models, with a 100% conversion rate achieved on the day.

Tony Wilson, general manager used cars and internal sales at BMW, commented: "This is an exceptional event for BMW and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to deliver such a fantastic sale.

"The results have been tremendous and the interest from buyers in the auction hall and online is a clear sign that the quality of vehicles on offer was very high.

"Manheim’s Colchester auction centre is the ideal venue for a sale like this and the team did a fantastic job showcasing the extensive range of high quality BMW vehicles on offer.”

Richard Cross, head of manufacturer relationships at Manheim, added: "There was a wide range of sale prices and star performers on the day and the supply of good quality stock from BMW, coupled with their renowned reputation and vision, helped us to deliver this very successful four-lane sale concept.

"Manheim is able to cater for all types of customers and has an irrefutable ability to deliver auctions on a scale such as this.

"The BMW specialist sales present a truly unique offering to our vendors and buyers. We look forward to further developing this partnership and continuing to offer excellence for our customers in the future."
