Volkswagen appoints Duncan Movassaghi as head of service and parts

Duncan Movassaghi has been appointed head of service and parts for Volkswagen Passenger Cars, replacing Stephen Butt who will move next month to Porsche GB as general manager - ownership.

Movassaghi, who is currently Head of Operations for Škoda, joined the Volkswagen Group in 2010 from international pharmaceutical company Celesio AG.  During his time with Škoda, he has led the brand's sales through a period of significant growth, peaking with a record high of over 66,000 registrations in 2013 and a market share of 2.9%.

As head of service and parts, Movassaghi will be responsible for the quality of service delivery and parts sales throughout the Volkswagen UK network, as well as aftersales programmes and customer satisfaction and retention.

Commenting on the appointment, director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Robert Hazelwood, said: "I am delighted to welcome Duncan to the Volkswagen Passenger Cars management team. He brings to the brand a wealth of business experience that will be invaluable in helping us achieve our ambitions and delivering the highest levels of customer service. I would also like to thank Stephen for the excellent work he has done in this role and wish him all the best in his new position at Porsche."
