ParkAround London, a free parking app, offers users discounts of up to 80% when they reserve a spot through the application.

Compatible with iPhone and Android, the app lets users locate available parking spots across the city and reserve them in less than 10 seconds.

Users simply set their destination, enter their expected park time and browse the list of available spaces.

The app tell drivers how much they can expect to pay as well as giving them an overview of parking facilities at the particular location.

ParkAround also offers a voice activation service that can be used to give spoken integrated driving directions directly to the reserved place.

Areas covered include: Holborn, Old Street, Waterloo, Barbican, Angel, Marylebone, Paddington, Marble Arch, South Kensington, Leicester Square, Tottenham Court Rd and Swiss Cottage.

ParkAround London is an expansion of the successful Athens version, which was launched in 2013.

Users can expect to see a number of new features and updates, including a fresh new interface, smarter search function, improved cost calculator, support for multiple license plates and optimised in-car usage.

The company’s mission extends beyond helping users to find cost-effective parking spots in London.

The app offers an achievable solution for helping to manage traffic congestion, reduce fuel usage and ultimately get cars off the road as quickly as possible.

John Katsiotis, CEO said: “We’re delighted to roll out our service to London’s streets with the aim of making city driving a lot less stressful.

“Whether you’re a local or a visitor, ParkAround is designed to reduce stress and leave motorists free with more time to enjoy the capital.

“We aim to make city driving more efficient by matching empty spots with drivers and in this way, making it more sustainable.

“ParkAround is unique in that we are the only parking app that doesn’t require users to pre-pay for their space.

“It’s also one of the first to work in real time which means you can reserve a parking place as little as 10 minutes before you need to use it.

“We don't have booking fees and we actually offer lower prices than drive-up rates so it’s a real win-win for London drivers.”

The ParkAround team is working towards integration with Apple's CarPlay system, which was announced a few weeks ago.
