Speedy wins Brake safety award

The Speedy transport team has had its approach to health and safety recognised with the ‘Safe Vehicles Award’at the Brake Fleet Safety Awards 2014.

Judges praised Speedy for its stringent reporting systems and its innovative approach to on-vehicle equipment, specifically noting its personal digital assistant (PDA) device, which all Speedy drivers are required to carry, as it tracks their whereabouts and is used to report accidents.

The award comes on the back of another achievement for Speedy - it recently won the coveted ‘Safest Fleet of the Year’ at the 2014 Fleet News Awards, which also celebrated the company’s commitment to safety.

Ian Leonard,?group fleet services manager?at Speedy, said: “To have our fleet named as one of the safest in the UK - by two external bodies - is a great honour and is a testament to the ongoing hard work and dedication of the whole team.

“At Speedy we have strict protocols and procedures in place to ensure that our employees and members of the public are safe while out on the road.

“This recognition reinforces our commitment to vehicle and driver safety and demonstrates the progress we have made in making our vehicles as safe as possible.”
