Ashwoods Lightfoot has signed a new deal with Disvent Ingenieros, a well-established supplier of satellite communication systems and other electronic equipment to the Spanish marine industry.

Keen to expand their portfolio, Disvent Ingenieros had been on the hunt in Europe for an innovative driver behaviour product for fleets – which would fit with their existing business model and which they could market in Spain.

During their search they discovered Lightfoot, the in-cab driver efficiency system, and according to the company were impressed by its approach to fixing driver behaviour at source.

Lightfoot provides real-time visual and audible training, whilst also providing fleet managers with a user-friendly, weekly report containing at-a-glance insights into fleet performance and confirmation of sustained fuel and CO2 savings.

Operational since 1985, Disvent Ingenieros is well-placed to pitch Lightfoot to the Spanish fleet market and the company is confident that Lightfoot’s unique time, cost, fuel, accident and CO2 saving functionality will prove attractive to fleet managers across Spain.

José M Sánchez of Disvent Ingenieros said: “We have completed our translation of the Lightfoot website into Spanish and we are now contacting all companies across Spain that own large fleets.

“We have plenty of units ready in stock and the team at Ashwoods are providing us with training on how to fit the system so that we can manage everything ourselves here in Spain.”

Mark Roberts, managing director of Ashwoods Lightfoot, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Disvent Ingenieros.

“It’s great seeing Lightfoot bringing tangible benefits to more and more of the UK’s largest and most innovative fleets and we’re continuing to sign new companies up for trial each month.

“We are ambitious about extending our reach into Europe and with Disvent Ingenieros on board, Spain is an exciting first step.”
