Tracker is launching ‘Tracker Vision Sprint’, adding to the Tracker Vision product by enabling fleets that do not require every vehicle to be constantly monitored to switch their Garmin-Supported Tracker units between vehicles.

Launched earlier in the year, Tracker Vision is the result of an exclusive partnership between Tracker and Garmin, to combine Tracker’s fleet telematics technology and back-office expertise with Garmin’s satellite navigation units, combining fleet tracking with navigation, job allocation reporting and driver communication provided through a customisable and secure website.

Tracker Vision Sprint adds portability to this to allow for a flexible system that can fit in with a range of vehicles.

This will benefit those businesses which may want to utilise fleet tracking but have been unable to in the past due to its fixed nature, such as lone workers, or grey fleet vehicles that just require one-off monitoring, says Tracker.

David Wilson, sales & services director for Tracker, said: “Telematics is becoming more common place amongst businesses that recognise the cost savings and efficiencies they can bring.

“With that popularity, certain stakeholders have been asking for an exchangeable product that suits their day-to-day requirements – Tracker Vision Sprint answers this need.

“By offering a plug and play Sat Nav device that incorporates fleet tracking, units can be transferred quickly between vehicles.”

With an in-cab Garmin terminal, Tracker Vision Sprint allows managers to pin point location of an asset, offers journey playback, starts, stops and other timed events, reporting, alerts – including customised alerts.

Wilson concluded: “At Tracker, we are always looking at the market to see not just what’s needed now, but what’s next. Tracker Vision Sprint is a completely new offering for the telematics market that anticipates what fleet operators want and gives it to them now.”
