Mercedes-Benz Fleet has launched a new tool which enables fleet managers and company car drivers to compare any Mercedes-Benz model with the three nearest like-for-like competitors, or any vehicle they choose.

The tool, which is available on the Mercedes-Benz website and is tablet compatible, uses real-time data from CAP.

It includes a detailed comparison of cost-efficiency, technology, residual value, standard specification and optional extras – listed in order of importance for varying fleet audiences. This takes into account the P11D cost of the car.

This data enables users to compare vehicles to their own car by entering their registration number.

All comparisons are presented in a clear and concise layout which can be saved and emailed in a user-friendly format.

Sally Dennis, head of fleet at Mercedes-Benz UK, said: “We have worked hard at Mercedes-Benz to ensure we are competitive in terms of standard equipment, CO2 emissions, and economy, and are pleased to be able to offer a tool that delivers intelligent analysis and drives consideration for the Mercedes-Benz brand and product offering.

"We hope this tool will help users see how competitive we are in the market and encourage them to take another look at Mercedes-Benz and see that the numbers work.”

Mercedes-Benz is continuing to develop and improve the efficiency of its combustion engines with over 46 models across the range now featuring CO2 emissions of less than 150 g/km.

A focus is also being put on hybridisation – highlighted by the arrival of the S 300 BlueTEC Hybrid, and the C 300 BlueTEC Hybrid – set to arrive this summer and users can see the effects of these new technologies via this new comparison tool.
