Nexus Vehicle Management has launched a series of new initiatives underpinned by its IRIS rental management software, to improve and monitor supplier performance.

The corporate rental provider has collaborated with a number of its suppliers to create a series of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), which will help to improve and monitor their supply chain.

The IRIS rental management platform has been enhanced to allow Nexus suppliers to manage their own development, based on the KPI’s and SLA’s set by Nexus.

Suppliers can login to the IRIS platform and view their KPI scores in real-time, providing them with a clear picture of their performance based on a number of factors including how well the supplier has met delivery terms, how well they have managed any disputes with customers, and  how they continue to improve their service.

The system provides a structured view of any areas requiring development and allows the suppliers to make changes specific to this.

It also allows for the benchmarking of suppliers according to the market in which they operate.

Nexus has used its award winning rental technology, IRIS, to create a process that proactively develops its suppliers rather than acting reactively, as is the norm in most industries when measuring supplier performance.

Communication and collaboration within the Supply chain is key and the IRIS system allows real time interaction with suppliers providing them with complete visibility on how they can deliver a quality service to the end user every time.

David Brennan, Nexus chief executive, said: “At Nexus, we work hard to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service in the vehicle rental industry.

“By introducing these new initiatives and enhancing our technology, we can maintain the high standards we expect from all of our suppliers.”

“The new supply chain module in our IRIS vehicle management system along with the new SLA’s and KPI’s will not only ensure that we improve our already excellent customer service but will also improve customer retention.”

Nexus has in excess of over 150 vehicle rental suppliers, in over 1750 rental locations around the UK.
