Julie Summerell named ‘Business Person of the Year’ by Solihull News

Julie Summerell, managing director of Berkswell-based TR Fleet, has been named ‘Business Person of the Year’ for 2014 by the Solihull News.

The award, which is held in association with the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club, follows Summerell’s other recent successes, including ‘Business Person of the Month’ last November and ‘Best Use of Innovation’, awarded by the Solihull Chamber in October.

Nigel Heath, PR consultant to Marriott Forest of Arden, said :“Julie's name was brought to our attention because she had certainly impressed others with her entrepreneurial flair and enthusiasm to make her business grow and prosper."

With a career spanning more than 25 years in the automotive sector, Summerell founded TR Fleet in 2010.

After two successful years, the fleet management consultancy secured major investment by Birmingham-based venture finance company Midven.

A further three years down the line and TR Fleet continues to grow, with overseas expansion into Australia confirmed in July last year.

An overwhelmed Summerell said:“I am completely flattered to receive this fabulous award amongst so many other worthy contenders. It truly reflects the hard work the team and I at TR Fleet have put in throughout 2014. We will continue to grow throughout 2015 and hope to build on what has been a promising start to the year.”
