The new Škoda Superb has been unveiled in Prague.

Available as a hatchback or an estate, the new car is bigger than its predecessor, packing a 625-litre boot, as well as a longer wheelbase for extended legroom.

CEO Winfried Vahland said: “In recent years, we have renewed and expanded our model range. The new Superb demonstrates our aspirations in the automotive mid-class. In terms of creativity and technology, it reaches a new level of performance, shows Škoda’s reclaimed position and leads the way into the future of the brand. This fantastic car will attract new private and business customers to Škoda.”

The new Superb will feature three-zone air-conditioning, a folding towbar, a rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control and an automatic parking system.

There is now an umbrella in each front door, an ice scraper in the fuel cap, as well as a range of storage netting inside the car.

Five engines will be on offer, including 1.6 and 2.0-litre diesels, as well as a 1.4 TSI petrol. A DSG gearbox will also be available.
