Alphabet has announced that strategic fleet consultant Nigel Trotman will retire at the end of the month after 22 years in the fleet industry.

Trotman joined the industry in 1993 managing Whitbread’s fleet and has received numerous awards and accolades including Fleet News’ Fleet Manager of the Year (2000), Employee Benefits Award Best Company Car Strategy (2006), Energy Savings Trust Fleet Hero (2007), Fleet News’ UK Fleet of the Year (2008) as well as being inducted into the Fleet News Hall of Fame in 2013.

He joined Alphabet in 2010 and since that time has worked with corporate and public sector clients on the strategic development of their fleet and mobility solutions.

Trotman has been an active member of ACFO’s National Council for 9 years and will continue as ACFO Midlands Regional Secretary.

Trotman said: “I’ve loved working in the fleet and business mobility industry – it’s one that literally and metaphorically never stands still. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure to meet and work with some fantastically talented people who have become friends as much as colleagues and customers. I’m excited to stay involved in the future development of the mobility industry and will continue to be involved in some part through my work with ACFO.”

David Bushnell, who joined Alphabet in October 2014, will assume Nigel’s responsibilities within the company’s team of business mobility consultants.
