Licence Bureau has been reappointed the official licence checking partner for Company Car in Action (CCIA), the UK's premier fleet test driving event, to support the continued focus by Fleet News on helping companies remain safe and compliant.

This year, to support Government Covid measures, all licences will be checked prior to the show starting. Once delegates have registered to attend the event, they will receive an email from Licence Bureau on behalf of Company Car In Action asking for consent to carry out a mandatory licence check with the DVLA.

Following employees being on furlough and drivers working remotely away from their businesses for long periods, Licence Bureau believes this is a good time for companies to re-assess their driver compliance, starting with licence checks.

For instance, during the first lockdown more drivers were caught for speeding as the roads were quiet so a driver’s licence status may have changed since Covid-19 first struck in March 2020.

“It’s always great to be involved in Company Car in Action and the last one in 2019 we only saw a handful of licence anomalies from the hundreds of drivers that attended the event,” said Jim Kirkwood, CEO of TTC Group, Licence Bureau’s parent company.

“Generally, the pandemic has brought more potential driver and vehicle compliance issues to life following a change in company working practices.”

He added: “We look forward to being on hand at CCIA to check licences and provide some friendly support and advice to drivers and fleets during the event.”
