Scot Group, which trades as Switch Car Rental, has announced that sales director Caroline Gallagher will retire following a 38-year career in the automotive industry.

With 21 years at Scot Group, Gallagher (pictured) has played a pivotal role in the growth and evolution of Switch Car Rental

In 2023, she was inducted into the prestigious Fleet News Hall of Fame, recognising her influence and achievements in the fleet and automotive sectors.

Chief executive officer Martin Wilson said: “During Caroline’s time at Scot Group, she has driven consistent year-on-year growth and secured some of the most sought-after accounts in the UK.

“Her leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on the business, and she leaves behind a very settled and capable team, well placed to continue delivering exceptional customer service.

“We thank her sincerely and wish her the very best in her retirement.”

In a strategic move, Phillip Bye, currently head of national accounts, has been appointed sales director, effective from the end of July.

Bye (pictured below) has worked closely with Gallagher for the past 14 years, playing a key role in the company’s continued success.

Bye said: “I’m really excited to step into this role. Caroline certainly leaves behind a fantastic team that I’m honoured to continue to work with and am thrilled to take this next step and contribute to driving the continued success of the business.

“Working with Caroline for well over a decade has been a privilege and I look forward to working with the senior leadership team to build on the strong foundation she’s helped create.

“I and the entire sales team would like to wish Caroline all the very best for a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.”
