FAB Recycling, the vehicle dismantler, has been given a £500,000 cash injection by its parent company Motorhog and has become a specialist in dismantling and processing plug-in vehicles for the group.

The investment follows on from the decision for FAB to take over operational control of Motorhog’s 50,000 sq ft Gloucester facility with immediate effect.

The Gloucester site will be Motorhog’s southern hub for the dismantling and storage of re-claimed vehicles parts servicing fleet, insurance, trade and retail customers.

The company has a team of 36 and stocks in excess of 18,500 tested, cleaned, catalogued parts.

FAB Recycling is one of the UK’s largest independent specialist vehicle parts recyclers, operating across the My Green Fleet, FAB Direct and FAB Bundle banners.

My Green Fleet is aimed at public and private sector fleet managers and creates a pool of written-off vehicles that are purchased under contract.

Non-safety related parts are removed from these vehicles, graded, stored, and then sold back to the donor fleets as and when required.

Jason Cross, FAB Recycling managing director, said: “We will be looking to strengthen the existing Gloucester team using the knowledge and skill we have in the field of green re-claimed car and LCV parts.

“We have always looked to the future and can see that our group’s suppliers and customers are choosing in ever greater numbers alternative fuelled vehicles, specifically hybrid and electric and as ever will be working with them to provide the very best facility in the UK to meet our customers’ requirements.”

FAB has two sites, one a 2.5-acre fleet specialist facility and an additional new 6.5-acre site in Cinderford, Gloucestershire.

All of FAB’s recycled bolt-on type body panels and mechanical parts are supplied graded and fully warranted, they also all come with traceability.
