Lytx appoints Damian Penney

Video-based driver safety specialist Lytx has announced Damian Penney as its new vice president and general manager, for the European region.

Penney will be responsible for providing executive leadership to Lytx’s European operations with a focus on driving the company’s growth and momentum forward.

“We are honoured to have Damian Penney lead our business in Europe. His extensive knowledge and expertise is a great addition to our already outstanding team and growing market presence,” said Brandon Nixon, CEO at Lytx.

“We’ve experienced tremendous growth at Lytx year after year, and plan to continue our growth trajectory in Europe by constantly elevating the value we offer our clients, through innovative programme enhancements and solutions to critical fleet and driver safety needs.

“We will continue to innovate and help make good drivers better all over the world.”

Penney, who has more than 20 years of experience in the European transportation sector, joins Lytx as Paul Jones, who has been leading the European team, returns to Lytx corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.

“I’m thrilled to join Lytx, and I want to thank Paul for his entrepreneurial initiative and leadership in establishing a great foundation for our European business,” said Penney.

Prior to joining Lytx, Penney was managing director at Peak-Ryzex & Movilitas Consulting UK, where his organisation provided end-to-end managed services, consultancy, enterprise mobility, printing and mobile data capture solutions for organisations focused on supply chain optimisation and field-based business processes.

Earlier in his career, Penney served as sales and marketing director at LXE (now Honeywell) responsible for achieving rapid, profitable growth and structural change across all European sales, marketing and partner operations.

Penney’s background also includes various business development leadership roles at several technology companies that specialise in software development, consulting, client services, alliances, sales and marketing.
