Leeds-based Nexus Vehicle Rental has been shortlisted in the 2016 Amazon Growing Business Awards in recognition of its growth and innovation.

Now in their 18th year, the Amazon Growing Business Awards recognises SME and entrepreneurial success.

Nexus is shortlisted in the B2B Business of The Year category, which recognises exceptional market leading, high growth, and innovative B2B businesses that have significant potential to continue to scale.

Previous award winners include Innocent Drinks, Betfair, Lovefilm and Fever-Tree, while VIP guests to have graced the ceremony include Bill Gates, Gordon Brown and Stelios Haji-Ioannou.

David Brennan, CEO of Nexus Vehicle Rental said: “To be named as a finalist in such a highly competitive and coveted national awards programme underlines that we are not only a business that can demonstrate a consistent growth record but one that has real potential for growth in the future.

“Despite not owning any vehicles, we have access to the largest network in the UK and are the only company that can source any vehicle, anytime, anywhere.

"We will continue to innovate in order to bring the highest standards of technology to the industry and to ensure we remain the market leading name in vehicle rental.”

Nexus underwent a shareholder buyout in 2015 when private equity firm Bowmark Capital bought out previous investor Livingbridge, for £51m.

Bowmark specialises in UK growth companies valued up to £150m, backing experienced management teams to build world-class businesses.
