Fleets can join their colleagues in the industry to consider the most pressing issues they face at Company Car in Action this year.

Two key issues will be considered by a range of industry experts at the CCIA Debate Zone during the event, which is held on June 13-14 at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire.

The debates will cover:

• Fuel choices - taking fleets beyond diesel
• Technology and safety - managing connected cars and autonomy

The fuel choices debate will get both sides of the argument about the future of diesel.

Diesel accounts for 70% of tax-paying company cars, but the debate is raging about its future on company fleets.

Carbon dioxide-based still favours diesel, but some cities, including London, are actively discouraging the fuel.

The debate will look at the argument for retaining diesel as a fleet fuel of the future, but also consider the alternatives and look at fleets success stories for plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles.

The technology and safety debate will consider how fleets can benefit from everything from connected cars to autonomous technology.

However, speakers will also warn about the dangers of distracted driving and the critical role fleet policy will play in training drivers to use technology in a safe manner.

The engaging discussions provide a value-added element for fleets during their visit and are timed to provide the maximum benefit while leaving plenty of time for taking test drives during the day.

The UK’s leading fleet manufacturers will bring their latest models to the show, with a choice of around 300 vehicles available to test in a purpose-built environment.

There is something available for fleets of every size in all industry sectors, with models ranging from superminis to SUVs and luxury vehicles. Pick-ups and commercial vehicles are also available to test from some brands.

Models can be driven on four unique test routes have been designed specifically so that decision-makers can understand the real-world performance of vehicles before adding them to their fleets.

Route choices include a testing city circuit, the high-speed bowl, a challenging hill route and an off-road course.
