Nexus Vehicle Rental has continued its period of sustained growth, processing a record number of bookings in the first half of 2018, six months after the firm reported its fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth.

On a single day in June, Nexus had a record 11,200 vehicles out on rent, representing a 58% increase on the 7,100 reported at the same time in 2017.

The first half of year has also seen the number of company employees rise 12% from 113 to 126, providing additional account management services for customers. Alongside this, the firm is finalising plans to extend its office space into an additional building at its Leeds headquarters.

Nexus says it is committed to growing its business offering through technology, having developed its pioneering online rental booking and management software in house, which allows clients to access an unrivalled vehicle supply chain of more than 550,000 vehicles across 2,000 locations.

Its ability to source any vehicle, anywhere, at even the most challenging of times - such as periods of inclement weather - has contributed to Nexus’ success, it says, with the firm winning 95 new clients in 2018 to date.

David Brennan (pictured), CEO of Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “Our continued growth – stimulated by our commitment to innovation through technology and investment in our people – is testament to our expert teams.

“2018 has been a challenging year so far as the industry battles the uncertainty of Brexit and dire weather conditions putting a significant strain on both fleets and suppliers. However, our business model allows us to cater for the shift in consumer behaviour - from ownership to usership - in these uncertain times, and our unrivalled supply chain has allowed us to keep the country moving through difficult weather conditions.

“We will continue to respond to changing market demands and consumption habits in this evolving space and are fully committed to developing the very best technology and customer service. This dedication to servicing our clients has seen our Net Promoter Score (NPS) increase significantly in the last year alone and we’re looking forward to the future as we continue to grow as a genuine one-stop shop for business mobility.”

Founded in 1999, Nexus has achieved consistently high growth year-on-year and has also appeared in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 twice.

The firm recently launched a new Management Information (MI) suite within its rental booking and management system, IRIS. The improved, intuitive reporting module provides clients with previously unavailable bespoke data and can save clients up to 20% on their rental spend, it said.
