Autohorn Fleet Services has been named as Yorkshire’s fastest growing business in 2018, based on the average percentage gain in turnover for five years, compiled by Insider.

The business now employs 65 members of staff with a fleet of 2000 cars and a turnover of £23.4 million having started in 1995 as a team of five and a fleet of nine cars.

Autohorn Fleet Service’s sales and operations director Scott Jenkins said: “We are always looking for new ways to innovate and become more efficient, and our recent restructuring has certainly made a big impact on our capacity for growth.

"Our flexible, short term leasing options cater for a gap in the market which, with an uncertain economy, enable our customers to have the flexibility that they desire. We are now looking to build on this growth with exciting and ambitious plans for the future.”

An organisational reshuffle and restructure of marketing activities is thought to have contributed to the recent growth period.

The business also cites its investment and approach to its digital offering via flexed.co.uk and clearcarleasing.co.uk as a key reason for success, alongside identifying the need for flexible short term leasing.

There are plans for further growth with a move to a new head office at Clifton Moor, Wigginton Road, York scheduled to begin next year.

The move is anticipated to create an additional 65 full time jobs by 2020 as well as indirectly creating 136 jobs in the local economy by generating wider economic activity.
