Morgan Sindall Group has added Volvo to its user-chooser list after a survey of its employees highlighted demand for the Swedish brand.

The entire Volvo car range – from the XC40 SUV to the S90 saloon and XC90 SUV – is now available to Morgan Sindall Group’s 3,000 company car drivers and cash for car takers.

Volvo’s safety credentials and Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) emissions data met Morgan Sindall Group’s safety and environmental policies which, along with the employee feedback, were central to the company’s decision.

Jonathan Hall, plant and transport director at Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s in-house plant and transport company, Magnor Plant, confirmed the significant influence of the employee survey.

“The whole process was driven by our staff,” he said. “We asked our construction and infrastructure division what manufacturers they wanted on the company car list and they said Volvo. Six months later, after a seamless procurement process, we’ve been able to meet demand.

“The fact that Volvo’s entire model range has electrified powertrain options is helping us towards achieving our ‘road to zero’ emissions goal.”

Working closely with Riverside Volvo, Doncaster and Morgan Sindall Group’s fleet provider, Lex Autolease, 12 vehicles have already been delivered with a further six on order.

Steve Beattie, head of business sales at Volvo Car UK, said: “At Volvo our philosophy has always been to deliver safety, but not at the expense of style. It’s rewarding to see that corporate drivers recognise this and I’m really pleased that our comprehensive car range is helping to make the thousands of miles covered by Morgan Sindall Group’s drivers each year safer and more enjoyable.”
