SMH Fleet Solutions has introduced social distancing in its workshops so it can keep essential fleets moving.

The company provides service and maintenance support to suppliers to the NHS, healthcare providers, utility companies and the grocery industry. It is classed as an essential service provider and has committed to keeping its workshops open to support key workers.

Martin McAuley, director of SMH Fleet Solutions, said: “Our team is doing critical work to ensure that vehicles for the essential services are kept on the road. We have implemented social distancing and wider health and safety measures on all our sites to keep our people safe.

“We are increasingly delivering cars to essential workers to enable them to continue to support the fight against the Covid19 virus.  We have made our first deliveries to the British Red Cross, and more of these are expected in the coming days.”

The company is only using every third bay in workshops to ensure operatives are kept apart. SMH recently won the Rospa Gold Award for demonstrating high health and safety standards.

SMH Fleet Solutions operates sites in Worcester, Glouster, St Helens, Throckmorton and Bedford. It provides a range of fleet services from pool fleet management to maintenance and logistics.
