BCA has released an update to its Buyer app with the introduction of new functionality allowing customers to place bids on BCA’s Bid Now online auction platform.

The update means customers can now bid or buy in all of BCA’s online channels via the BCA Buyer app – real time Online Auctions, Buy Now fixed price sales and Bid Now fixed time auctions.

BCA says that 14,000 unique users are now regularly accessing BCA’s sales programmes via the Buyer app.

Dene Jones, chief marketing and data officer, said: “The BCA Buyer app is a valuable and integral channel for our customers to acquire stock safely and efficiently and usage has risen steadily during the lockdown period.

"Over 14,000 buyers now regularly access the online BCA sales programme via the BCA Buyer app, bidding on and buying thousands of vehicles every week, making it the most widely used transactional mobile app serving the wholesale used vehicle sector."

BCA Bid Now auctions run for fixed times and customers can place a bid at any time until the bidding closing time has been reached.

If a customer is outbid by another bidder on BCA Bid Now, they are sent an automated email offering the opportunity to increase their bid if the sale is still open.

Winning bidders settle their account online and, if the vehicle hasn’t met the reserve price, the sale will go to a provisional status.

Almost 5,000 cars and vans will be offered in BCA’s online sales programme today (Monday, July 20).

It features a new streamlined sales structure to help buyers locate the vehicles they need, with vehicles catalogued as Dealer, Fleet (including BCA Outsourced Solutions) or Finance alongside the regular UKCGR stock, LCV and solus vendor sales from BMW Group, Black Horse and Mercedes-Benz.
