Enterprise Car Club introduced in Stirling

Enterprise Car Club has introduced a Nissan Leaf, as well as seven other car club vehicles including five hybrids, to Stirling town centre after being appointed to run the city’s on-street car club on behalf of Stirling Council.

All the vehicles are available for residents and visitors to rent by the hour or for longer, from £4.50 per hour and £25.00 per day, and can be booked using a mobile app.

Councillor Jim Thomson, environment convener at Stirling Council, said: “Partnering with Enterprise Car Club is a positive step towards encouraging and enabling our residents to be more sustainable and to help make Stirling a better place to live.”

Xpress Centres swaps courtesy cars for Enterprise Car Club

Xpress Centres has announced an industry-first partnership with Enterprise to provide customers with an Enterprise Car Club vehicle while their own car is being repaired.

The bodyshop group is replacing part of its existing fleet of courtesy cars with car club vehicles.

Craig O’Shaughnessy, chief operating officer at Xpress Centres, said: “Providing Enterprise Car Club vehicles means we can offer customers the latest, low emission vehicles without the hassle and cost of managing a fleet on site.”

BCA adds proxy bidding to BCA Buyer app

BCA has released a further update to its Buyer app with the introduction of Proxy Bidding for forthcoming live auctions.

App users can choose to leave proxy bids on any number of vehicles in forthcoming BCA sales. Buyers navigate to the vehicle they are interested, enter their maximum bid and tap on the ‘Place Proxy Bid’ button.

The new partnership will enable Arnold Clark to offer Trakm8’s range of telematics and vehicle camera solutions as an added value proposition to its contract hire and leasing customers.

DriveTech to support Project EDWARD

DriveTech is an official supporter of Project EDWARD and will kick off the first day of the campaign with a ‘Driver Behaviour’ webinar on Monday 14, September.

Project EDWARD – the road safety campaign positioned around ‘Every Day Without a Road Death’ returns this year with a week of road safety activity in the week of September 14-18, focussed around work-related road risk.

Law firm awarded £3m contract with Highways England

Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has been appointed by Highways England to help with the recovery of damages for repairs to roadside furniture caused by motorists.

The firm’s Corclaim Uninsured Loss Recovery division (ULR), has been enlisted to provide advocacy and litigation services for Highways England over the next 2 years.

Highways England said: “The aim of the contract will be to ensure that the backlog for all Highways England claims has been cleared and that Highways England are able to recover claims in respect of damage to our strategic road network in a timely manner.”
