Nexus Vehicle Rental has reached a new milestone with delivering more than 1,500 bookings through its passenger taxi service, Nexus Go.

The mobility solution was launched in December 2021 and created to provide another option for transporting people on shorter or one-way journeys that have become difficult to fulfil in the market due to supply challenges.

Nexus Go gives customers access to an online taxi booking portal where they can book a trip, planned or on-demand.

The service also provides journey progress and location updates, access to more than 3,500 taxi companies throughout the UK and a GPS tracking facility via Google Maps.

Yvonne Palmer (pictured), operations director at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “Over the last two years we have seen a huge shift in the market with suppliers moving away from supporting shorter term hires such as one-day, one-way bookings.

“When we launched Nexus Go we were looking to offer an alternative means of enabling our customers to get to where they needed to be despite the supply challenges.

“Reaching this milestone demonstrates how Nexus Go has provided an effective solution that has enabled the business to meet the needs of our customers.”

In addition to launching into the taxi market, Nexus has also launched its new plant hire and site solutions category and continued its product innovation with Nexus Connect, a mobile application developed specifically for drivers to help streamline aspects of the rental process whilst on the move.

The company said using Nexus’ rental booking and management software, IRIS, Nexus Go, users can consolidate billing to incorporate journey fees and ancillary charges in full.

Users also get access to the customer management reporting suite in both on and offline accessible formats, Nexus said.
