Chinese premium car brand Jaecoo will launch in the UK this summer, as a sister brand to Omoda.
The first Jaecoo model to hit UK roads will be the J7 mid-size SUV. It's expected to be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, although specific technical details are yet to be confirmed.
Both Jaecoo and Omoda are susidiaries of Chery Automomotive, China's largest car maker. Omoda's UK launch is scheduled for March.
A dealer network, initially consisting of 50 sites, is being established. Omoda says it has plans to expand to 100 sites by the end of the year.
The first franchise partners – Endeavour Automotive, Listers and Peter Vardy – have already committed to the brand.
Omoda will launch the 5 SUV in March, offered with both petrol and electric powertrains. Before the end of 2024, a second SUV, the Omoda 9, will be introduced.
