Richard Hill has joined fleet risk management technology company, DriverMetrics as sales director.

He was previously sales director at AA DriveTech.

In his role new role, Hill will manage DriverMetrics’ growing UK and international customer base which includes clients such as Shell, Unilever and Balfour Beatty through to smaller domestic fleet clients.

Hill brings over 20 years of experience in the fleet risk management industry. At AA DriveTech he headed up business development and channel partner operations, and prior to this held executive roles at Peak Performance (acquired by the AA) and the RAC.

Throughout his career he has worked with some of the UK's leading brands including Royal Bank of Scotland, Severn Trent Water, HSBC, LexAutolease, RSA, Direct Line Group, and ALD Automotive.

Hill said: “Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with some of the UK’s leading fleet operators and motor fleet insurers in the area of driver behaviour, so I am really pleased to be able to continue this work with the DriverMetrics business.

“My aim is to work with the team to create a truly unique and class-leading proposition, which will enable us to push the business forward to the next level, not just here in the UK, but on a global basis.”

Hill’s appointment follows a period of expansion for the a2om International Group, of which DriverMetrics is a part.

This includes the recent acquisition of Roadio, the London-based driver technology start-up, a move which bolsters DriverMetrics’ mobile and web capabilities.
