FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, is working with BP Target Neutral to offset carbon emissions for delegates travelling to and from the FORS Members Conference.

The 2017 FORS Members Conference takes place on October 17 in Birmingham, with more than 350 people expected to attend.

BP Target Neutral will calculate the CO2 emissions of every delegate’s journey, whether by train, bus, road or air, and offset the emissions through carbon reduction projects around the world.

These projects use carbon finance to help communities make the switch to lower carbon alternatives which reduce or absorb greenhouse gases.

Andrea Abrahams, director of BP Target Neutral, said: “We have been working with FORS to help educate fleets about the ways they can reduce their carbon emissions, and are delighted to be partnering with them to make travel to the FORS Members Conference carbon neutral.”

John Hix, concession director, FORS, said: “The push for greater efficiency is a theme throughout the FORS Standard, and we encourage fleet operators to consider the changes they can make to reduce emissions and offset where possible. It seems only fitting that we approach our conference in the same way.”
