Anglia UK has acquired Chris Huxtable Vehicle Collection & Delivery to expand its vehicle logistics division.

The acquisition further extends Anglia’s network of nationwide coverage and is expected to lead to additional improvements in its response times.

The deal between Anglia and business owners Chris and Nikki Huxtable, who recently took the decision to retire, will expand Anglia’s Goods Vehicle Operator Licence, bringing its fleet of HGV transporters to 60 and strengthening its national presence, particularly in the south of England.

Mark Scotney, Anglia managing director, said: “From the moment we met with Chris and Nikki it became obvious that our businesses were a great fit. They have operated in a remarkably similar way to us for the past 16 years - passionate owners and colleagues building an industry leading reputation, supported by a high quality fleet of purpose built vehicles.

“We have a common goal to deliver an outstanding customer experience and I am looking forward to working together over coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition and to continue the excellent service that Chris Huxtable has delivered over the years.”

The move further underlines Anglia’s presence in the vehicle transportation and logistics market where it offers a range of services to major banks and motor finance companies, including fleet and end of lease transport solutions.

Anglia’s vehicle logistics division has grown organically since the business was first established some 25 years ago.

Chris Huxtable added: “Nikki and I built our business from the ground up and are delighted to have found a like-minded organisation such as Anglia to continue our legacy. Having been there themselves, Mark and his team instinctively understood our operation and the ethos we have worked so hard to achieve. We are confident that the new combined business is in safe hands and will continue go from strength to strength.”
