Tesla unveils Model 3 fully electric D-sector car

Tesla has unveiled its fully electric Model 3 car, with deliveries due to begin in 2017.

The car is set to be a rival to compact executive models such as the BMW 3-Series, Jaguar XF and Audi A4, and is priced from $35,000 in the US, though UK pricing has not yet been announced.

The Model 3 has five seats (two less than its Model S sibling), and an estimated 215 mile range.

Potential owners can reserve a car for £1,000 via a Tesla showroom or the website.
