Volvo saw a 7% increase in UK sales in the first six months of the year, with more than one third coming from business users.

Selwyn Cooper (pictured), head of UK business sales for Volvo, said: “Volvo’s UK business and fleet sales grew from 22,065 in 2013 to 28,563 in 2015.

“Now, with S90 and V90 orders already coming in, the introduction of more powerful Twin Engines and healthy residual values are setting a strong platform in terms of sales for the rest of the year.”

The V40, S60 and V60 models were the most popular with business users, accounting for 45% of the total order take for business sales during the months of January to July.

Overall V60 sales were up 28%, year-on-year, with the V60 business edition accounting for 44% of all V60 orders placed so far this year.

The company has already sold 22,629 cars in the UK this year and the new XC90 has accounted for 5% of those, with over half being flagship Twin Engine models.
