Ford is set to end its GoDrive pay-by-the-minute car sharing pilot in London at the end of the month.

The service launched in May 2015, and primarily operated from private parking spaces, on a hub system that allowed drivers to return cars to a different, pre-determined location.

Earlier this year, the scheme extended to residents bays across the borough of Islington.

In an email to customers, Ford said: "GoDrive has given us insights into the best ways to address the mobility and transportation challenges in London and beyond.

"Your participation and feedback will help us develop new solutions to our collective transportation challenges."

The scheme launched with 50 vehicles - including several Focus electric models - located across central London.

Members must return vehicles to bays by 1pm on October 31.
