Volvo’s sporty R-Design trim level remains the most popular choice for company car drivers after an analysis of 2016 sales data.

R-Design models have accounted for 65% of all V40s, and 50% of XC60s, registered to fleets so far in 2016, with the latter Volvo’s best-selling fleet car in 2015.

The XC60 D4 R-Design was the most popular variant for business drivers which has CO2 emissions of 117g/km and a competitive BIK rate of 23%.

Dominic Gill, UK business sales operations manager for Volvo, said: “The average company car has to tick a number of boxes if it is to be added to a choice list or a user chooser’s shortlist.

“Our R-Design models offer a great blend of driving dynamics, visual impact and efficiency. It’s no surprise that the UK is one of the most popular markets for the variant.”

With a growing fleet order book for the new XC90 R-Design, the company will shortly add R-Design variants of the new S90 and V90 to its range.
